Thank you to everyone who visited last year during my 2009 season. We had an amazing Fruit cake year baking over 3,000 pounds, almost 5,000 pieces of my rum soaked fruitcake. I am looking forward to a bigger and better venue for 2010. I am sad to say the CBC Artspots has removed the link of the Made in Canada feature as it was scheduled to run for only two years. I have written them a letter asking if there is anyway this can be archived and sent to me. I will keep you posted. In the meantime feel free to contact them yourself at www.CBC.ca . If there is something you would like to see baked for the year 2010 venues or something you would like to see on line please send me an email and I will see what I can do!

| Grandma Deb's Gourmet Dark Rum Soaked Fruit Cake comes from an old family recipe which has just recently been traced back to almost 125 years. Each cake is baked using only the finest ingredients then wrapped in a rum soaked cheesecloth, wax paper, saran wrap, festive cello-wrap and finally labeled. People who never liked fruit cake in the past have ordered the cake after tasting it. This cake is delicious served with Bird's Custard, warmed Grand Marnier or French Vanilla Ice Cream. Some people have used the cake as a pudding with a hot rum sauce. |

Shortbread My Scottish Shortbread are delicious... nice and crisp too! They come from a very old family recipe as well. I was asked once if I could make shortbread and I knew it would make a great addition to my baskets at Christmas, so of course I agreed! Before I knew it I had baked over 60 dozen cookies and the rest is history. |
